Welcome to The Basement — a little corner of the site dedicated to classic public domain horror. Each week, I’ll dig up another old-school horror film and add it to the collection, from forgotten gems to wonderfully strange cult favorites. Head downstairs, turn out the lights, and see what’s playing this week.
This week I'm starting things off with a classic. This is the movie that started a whole genre and to this day still creeps me out. Have fun and enjoy the original 1968 classic, Night of the Living Dead. I had to mess with the sound around the 33-minute mark due to a copyright notice which I still don't quite understand but the show must go in.
This week on The Basement, we head deep into the swamp for Attack of the Giant Leeches — a slimy, strange, and wonderfully wild 1950s creature feature. If you like old-school monsters, murky waters, and classic B-movie madness, this is one you won’t want to miss.
This week in The Basement, we’re diving into the bizarre 1962 cult horror classic The Brain That Wouldn’t Die. After a terrible accident, a scientist refuses to let death have the final word—and his experiments quickly cross a line that should never have been touched.
Mad science, monsters, and pure B-movie weirdness await downstairs.
Turn off the lights, head into The Basement, and enjoy the show.
This week on The Basement, we're watching the legendary martial arts film A Touch of Zen.
What begins like an eerie ghost story involving an abandoned fort slowly grows into a sprawling martial arts tale filled with sword fights, mysterious warriors, Buddhist mysticism, incredible action sequences, and some wonderfully strange imagery.
Turn down the lights, get comfortable, and welcome to The Basement.
Welcome back to The Basement, brought to you by Odd and Weird 1 Studios, where forgotten films are dragged out of the darkness for another chance to terrify!
This week, we're traveling back to 1976 for the science-fiction horror classic Track of the Moon Beast!
When a meteorite fragment strikes a young scientist in the head, he begins transforming into a bloodthirsty reptilian monster whenever the moon appears!
With mysterious murders, a terrifying transformation, and plenty of 1970s monster-movie
